ABOUT US

Cape Cod Skating Club History

The Cape Cod Skating Club was founded in 1957 by Roger Turner a few months after the open air Kennedy Skating Center opened in Hyannis. Since that time hundreds of young skaters and their families have learned to skate, excel in figure skating, test, compete, and perform in a variety of ice skating shows for the pleasure of their family and friends.

Today's Cape Cod Skating Club

In the Spring of 2009 the Kennedy Skating Center was torn down and in September 2009 the new Hyannis Youth and Community Center was opened.  It consists of two indoor skating rinks, a gymnasium, a youth center, a three lane walking track, and other amenities.

Today, we are happy to have a growing club to support the children and adults who want to take their skating to the next level. We have a great relationship with the Hyannis Youth and Community Center Skating School which offers wonderful group lessons from beginner through Freestyle. We are committed to offering our skaters opportunities to grow. Our skaters have many incredible coaches to choose from for private lessons, we offer consistent USFS test sessions, and we have a competitive Theatre on Ice Team.
